ALCS Game 4 - "Ellsbury Go-Boy"

Game 4 - The fourth game of the ALCS proved to be the tightest battle of the series. Boston struck first as lead-off hitter Jacoby Ellsbury drove the 4th pitch he saw over the right-center field wall. Alex Avila answered back with a solo homer of his own in the 2nd. The Red Sox pulled ahead in the 3rd with a textbook "get-'em-on get-'em-over get-'em-in" which scored Stephen Drew. Detroit's Victor Martinez and Johnny Peralta clubbed back-to-back doubles to tie the game in the 4th. However, Boston's Pitcher, Jake Peavy was able to get out of the inning with only the one run. The Red Sox decided to make a statement in the top half of the 5th and score 2 runs, but the Tigers weren't having any of that as they also scored a pair in the bottom half of the 5th. Trying once again to pull ahead, Boston scored yet another 2 runs in the 6th and new pitcher Craig Breslow was able to hold the Tigers to only 1 run in the bottom of the 6th. The Red Sox bullpen took advantage of this one-run lead, as Breslow, Tazawa, and Koji Uehara joined forces to shut down the Detroit offense through the last 3 frames.

RED SOX WIN 6-5
Series tied 2-2
