For the second time in the post season Dodger starter Hyun-Jin Ryu spotted the opposition 4 runs over the first 3 innings.  Vs the Braves Ryu was able to get away with his generosity, but not vs the Cardinals who had their ace (Adam Wainright) on the mound.  The Cardinals would go on to score 7 runs on 16 hits.  Leadoff man Matt Carpenter had 3 hits and 2 RBI's including a game opening leadoff clout.  David Freese would also post 3 hits and a solo homer.  In total 6 Redbirds would have multi-hit games as the Cardinals held off the Dodgers and refused to go down 0-3 in the series.
